In the Limelight | Chevvvychase's New Album is About to be Released

D. Blais: Please introduce yourself to our readers?

Chevvvychase: My name is Chevvvychase I’m from Indianapolis, Indiana. I’m an artist, engineer, and own KEYimage records.

D. Blais: Who is your biggest musical influence and why?

Chevvvychase: Xxx, Wayne, rich the kid, A$AP ANT. They all own their own stuff and have a specific sound and move to the culture of rap.

D. Blais: How did you learn music/music business?

Chevvvychase: I taught myself everything I know. Years and years of working for this. D. Blais: What tools do you use to create music?

Chevvvychase: Currently I use a MacBook and I like to use Logic Pro , but if I’m in a recording studio I would be using Pro tools.

D. Blais: Do you often work with other musicians? 

Chevvvychase: Yes, very often. I record and do songs with people I affiliate with such as Air McCarthy and FluSensai.

D. Blais: Have you signed a record contract or a publishing deal or are you an independent artist?

Chevvvychase: I have a independent label “KEYimage”  and I release music through UnitedMasters.

  D. Blais: What do you think are the biggest challenges for independent artists?

Chevvvychase: Defiantly getting heard it’s tough without having a team or the money to advertise yourself.

D. Blais: Do you handle the marketing aspects all by yourself?  

Chevvvychase: Yes. I just do a lot of self promotion. 

D. Blais: Do you believe that social media has a positive financial impact on your career? How?

Chevvvychase: Defiantly social media presence can make or break someone’s career. If you’re not being seen how do you expect to be heard?

D. Blais: What is your creative process?

Chevvvychase: I just catch a vibe and turn the mic on and I’ll knock out 3-4 songs 

D. Blais: What achievement are you most proud of? 

Chevvvychase: Just the fact that people know me really.

It’s a great feeling when you’re out in public and someone says they love my music.

D. Blais: Do you have any music videos?

Chevvvychase: Not currently. 

D. Blais: What is success for you?  

Chevvvychase: Success to me would be that I could change other artist lives.

D. Blais: Do you prefer to work in the studio or perform in concert?  

Chevvvychase: Two different vibes and emotions . Being on stage is a big rush so probably that.

D. Blais: What would be your biggest dream?  

Chevvvychase: To have a big recording studio and label.

D. Blais: What are your future music business goals? 

Chevvvychase: Defiantly to travel and work with bigger artist.

D. Blais: What are the next steps for you?  

Chevvvychase: Dropping an album “MY TURN” at the end of this month and we have a show May 1st .
